Ed Bilodeau marked the seven year anniversary of his weblog, now called “Designing Learning Environments”. In all of the hoopla surrounding the 5th Anniversary of YULBlog, which Ed was completely instrumental in founding, I was afraid (and I think my fears were borne out) that it would get lost that he has been doing this – and doing this extremely well – for longer than almost anyone else in Montreal. So here’s to another 7 years of Ed’s writing on the WWW!
The little party
we’re throwing on March 19th is getting some press: La cabane des blogueurs (in today’s La Presse). Hope we see you on the 19th!
Yesterday afternoon
I was sitting at Laika minding my own business when a thought occurred to me: why not email Boris, who lives just a couple blocks away, and see if he can join me? So I emailed him from my phone and went ahead and ordered. I didn’t hear from him right away, but when I got home I noticed him in my IM list, and pinged him. It turns out he was sitting at a conference table with a bunch of very smart people, and he invited me along.
I arrived about 10 minutes later (the place – Sylvain Carle’s office – was around the corner from my place) and who do I find but a a fantastic group of people who are all involved in building and studying whatever it is that will become the Web 2.0. Check out some photos on Flickr as well.
Blork has posted a wrap-up
of the insanity last night at the regular YULBlog gathering at La Cabane: Media madness…
We’re going to get more details
out soon, but if you’re a blogger in Montreal I thought I should give advance notice to set aside the evening of March 19, a Saturday night, for the 5th Anniversary Party for YULBlog at Zeke’s Gallery. We’re pretty sure YULBlog’s First Wednesday is the longest-running regular weblogger gathering in the world, and we ARE sure we should celebrate that! Invitations and information will be coming from me, Patrick, Blork, and/or Chris very soon. Keep an eye on your inboxes, mailboxes, and the YULBlog site and all shall be revealed.
