Wallpaper* they didn’t have a website at all for the longest time, and I’m pretty sure that they looked at the web pretty disdainfully in terms of design etc. But check out their site. It’s not even launched and it’s shitty. It looks exactly like the old webzine Scroll which was produced in 1997 by Behavior New Media here in Montreal – and that no one ever read – mostly (in my opinion) cause the interface, award-winner though it was – was practically unusable.

Dave (passerby) and Meg both talk about information overload. Picking up the thread, I’ve found that taking time away from mass media and particularly the net is a great rejuvenator. It doesn’t have to be in the trees, although that would be great. But I have recently taken two weekends away from the net and it has made a huge difference.
In the airport
this morning (far too early) I sat down across from the magazine rack in the little waiting area. Prominently displayed, with Air Canada stickers identifying their provenance, were several copies of Mother Jones magazine. In striking counterpoint to the other mags – Forbes and Business Week.
