in the Canadian Parliament, now it seems that backbench Liberal MP Pat O’Brien has left the Liberal Party over the same-sex marriage issue. It seems that he’s upset over the apparent fast-track that Bill C-38 is getting. Amazing stuff.
Canadian politics is
often boring, usually as surprising as the sunrise, and there is a distinct lack of accountability in the whole system. But – when something does happen, boy does it ever HAPPEN. This morning, Belinda Stronach crossed the floor and joined the Liberal cabinet.
Darren Barefoot noticed that
Elections BC has ruled that weblogs are a form of campaign advertising and as such must be registered. I’m sure a lot of people will suggest that the sky is falling, when in fact it’s just another example of an inability to fit new media forms within old frameworks. Certainly everything will eventually shake out as it should – which will mean this silly decision will be reversed.
Last night, Conservative
MP Monte Solberg blogged from the House of Commons during the vote they held on their phony non-confidence motion.
