I’m a member of a particular virtual community and the whole weblog thing is one of the ongoing discussions there. It’s a pretty small group, but large enough that I don’t know everyone there. So anyway, for the past few days, Brent Simmons (from Userland and Inessential.com) has been posting pictures of different people using Manila to do their weblogs – and guess whose picture is right below mine… Dru Jay – the guy who started the weblogs topic at the VC. His site is called Misnomer.
Underappreciated:
RU Sirius made some early and very important contributions to the memes that have since spread about the net and cyberspace etc. Many think he’s a total loon. They’re wrong. An interview with Jon Lebkowsky is a good example: It’s better to be inspired than Wired.
Montreal industry newsletter:
The lien multimedia is the local multimedia industry rag in Montreal. It’s in French only, and some of the links are for subscribers only. Good employment list though, and the articles on the right-hand side are free.
Ongoing education.
I’ve been trolling through lots of these sites on and off all weekend. Learning. I’m not new to the web at all, but I’ve never kept a blog, nor have I really followed them. I found two more today I like a lot. Ryan’s Sixfoot6 site is very nice. I like the blue, which is very similar to one of my original personal sites (long-gone) from 1994-5 or so. Not to say it’s dated or anything. I also like Tomalak’s Realm by Lawrence Lee. Lots of stuff for me to read there.
Canada wins the Gold Cup
Canada wins the Gold Cup I’m not a huge soccer fan, but this is pretty cool. They’re ranked 85th in the world.
