Howard Dean has replaced Joe Trippi in a shake up of his senior campaign staff. Looks like desperation time in Dean-land. It says a lot that they couldn’t do this behind the scenes, quietly. At the same time, maybe he feels that the campaign needs to send a message to more traditional party folks that they’re ready to play ball – and he did that by getting rid of the maverick in mid-course.

John at Shatnerian
has posted the first Oscar predictions that I’ve seen since the list of nominees was announced this morning. Particularly funny:
Fernando Meirelles, City of God: I didn’t see it but I think the voters put a bunch of foreign director names in a hat and pulled out his. Kudos, Fernando.
Montreal weblog note:
Ed Bilodeau has, yet again, quit his weblog, this time the one called “Shoulder to the Wheel“. And, yet again, it’s too bad. He had, in this last incarnation, amassed a very nice source of information on various advanced topics in information management (etc.) that, unfortunately, others will no longer be able to consult.
Zeldman:
I’ve been meaning to link to
the Zeke’s Gallery weblog for ages, since Chris let me know about it in the fall. For whatever reason I only made it to his site the other day, and noted that, as expected, Chris is completely and totally suited to the blogging form. His posts are quite long, but they are original and opinionated, as is Chris himself in everything he does. Definitely a blog to watch in Montreal.
