I’m a single mom and like you I pray for the election; only I pray for George Bush to win. As far as the Guardian is concerned if I had any doubts about it being a left wing piece of garbage, these doubts are now gone with the calling for the killing of President Bush. Time and space prevents me from taking apart your incorrect conclusions about everything from Iraq to terrorism in general. I would love to debate you and I would win. Finally, I am a Vietnam era veteran-having served from Jan.1971 to Jan. 1975. I know a thing or two about John Kerry, and heaven help the United States if he is elected. It was his voice that was heard giving aid and comfort to the enemy while we were prisoners of war. That I will never forget or forgive. You should be ashamed of yourself.
The hallmark of a democratic nation is that we are invited to – indeed encouraged to – criticize our leaders when we disagree with them. This is a time-honoured tradition and is not just the best argument for democracy, but the very reason for democracy in the first place. I feel sad for anyone who doesn’t understand this, for they can never partake of the real fruits of either of our nations. You should feel anguish at having been duped and manipulated by your so-called leaders.
