Catarina made a good point when someone was pushing the idea that many blogs are just about “what I had for breakfast.” She reminded us that many (most?) blogs are not intended for any kind of global readership. They’re often just personal things intended to be read by friends, and that’s OK.
Yeah, people often dismiss blogs for that sort of thing, when in fact many if not most of them are there for precisely that reason. It’s a wide net – and no one thing called “blogging” is more so than any other. It drove me nuts when people identified the term largely with right-wing pro-war sites as well.
