A Bush speech is a Bush speech,
so there’s not a lot to say about his ‘press conference’ tonight, except to make two gratuitous comments. 1. It’s “noo-klee-ur” not “noo-ku-lar” and 2. was it some sort of covert tribute to the dearly deceased Fred “Mr” Rogers to keep underlining that he believes Saddam is “a threat to the neighborhood in which he lives”? Did the Rogers family approve?

A U.S. Diplomat’s Letter of Resignation in the NY Times (therefore, the link won’t remain active forever). “The policies we are now asked to advance are incompatible not only with American values but also with American interests. Our fervent pursuit of war with Iraq is driving us to squander the international legitimacy that has been America’s most potent weapon of both offense and defense since the days of Woodrow Wilson.”
