in Montreal today as the World Anti-doping agency has decided to call Montreal home. It’s not the biggest thing in the world, but somehow it’s nice to have your city chosen like that. Plus, in a year or so they could probably use an expert at communicating with physicians using the web.

A ton of folks
have been watching and commenting on the continuing development of Mac OS X. Unix people seem to be genuinely interested – even excited in some cases. Anyhow, today ZDNet published an interesting article in this vein: Why Apple’s bass-ackwards Unix approach is the right way.
Also noted while I was away
was that Be has, well, ceased to be. I remember hearing about BeOS way back, and at one point I even got a CD (attached to a magazine) and installed it on my old 603/200 Performa. It was very impressive – but in a few weeks I ditched it. I’m not qualified to do any sort of post-mortem. But I do wish they had made it work. And that Palm can do something with it.
I’m back and it seems
that I missed a lot of fun and not-so-fun stuff while I was away. Chief among the fun things seems to have been Photoshop Tennis hosted by coudal partners inc between Zeldman and Taylor. [via too many to mention]
Always nice to find
a primer on the web – someplace to get a buncha links and commentary about a specific subject. A very nice one I found via Scripting News today is called Learning about the DMCA by Jeremy Bowers.
