I find myself yearning
to read some theory again. I’ve been out of it for so long – but at the same time more deeply embedded than ever. A college in BC has put together a great list of Canadian media theorists and relevant resources that might be a good start, even though I’ve read them all before quite extensively. You can’t go wrong starting with Canadian media theory.

They’ve killed someone
. A protester has been killed anti-globalization demonstrations in Genoa, where the G7/8 are currently meeting. The press goes to great lengths to mark the protesters as “anarchists” and to suggest that everyone’s violent, but you know what? I don’t buy it. There’s no justification for that. Damage to property doesn’t justify killing a protester.
