today, I’m sitting here listening to Definitely Not the Opera on the CBC. They reviewed a new solo CD by one of my favourite singers, Sarah Harmer (who also plays with Weeping Tile). I’ve been lucky to have followed her career for years now, and it’s cool to hear that she’s doing well. The new CD is available only by mailorder or through MapleMusic.

I’d never heard of
Technocrat before today. After a quick look it looks kind of neat – like Slashdot for policy geeks and net-issues people. Like me. But I wonder who’s behind it, if there’s a particular agenda… Must go check.
John Perry Barlow
writes about Napster and copyright on a site called Technocrat. Very often I run screaming from the room in frustration over Barlow’s opinions on things, although I’m sure he’s a pleasant fellow. This isn’t one of those times – I largely agree with his analysis.

the other day: Stefanie Syman on the semiotics of colour in the urban landscape, or, since when do they use day-glo signs? The irony is that I saw my first fluorescent yellow sign just this past Monday, on University between Sherbrooke and Milton.
