If it were serious, I would nit-pick that the history section is off quite a bit in ignoring the whole “import” phenomenon that existed back in the early 80s, immediately before CDs came along. Speaking of Fray
: big brother is stunning. I like the stick people. The most evocative stick people I’ve seen in my life.
In Canada many
people have, for a long time, insisted that the act of telling one’s stories is an essential part of what it is to be Canadian. I don’t know if that’s why a site like Fray makes so much sense to me, but it might be. The Great Canadian Story Engine is very different than Fray, but interesting nonetheless.
Could this be
the other shoe dropping on the record industry? It seems to be the flip side of the Napster/Freenet/Gnutella coin to me.
