Still thinking
about what to do with this space. A weblog is great… but it should have a point. An editorial line. A content definition, as I say in my trade. But I think I’ve got it now.

Privacy is THE issue:
A Montreal company, Zero Knowledge Systems is working on it. Several friends of mine work there, and their head office is just around the corner. From everything I hear they do great work. But what about peer-review as it pertains to crypto? Have academics and cypherpunks been free to review the code underlying Freedom, at will? Or are they relying on the good name of their chief scientist, Ian Goldberg? What about the concerns raised by Declan McCullagh in Wired News?
John McCain:
I don’t know what to think about this story about John McCain’s use of a term I consider completely inappropriate. The thing that confuses me is that he did the right thing, according to this story. He worked hard to normalize relations with Hanoi. Do the actions outweigh the slur?
